Dear Palmer Woods Neighbor:

The Palmer Woods Association is very pleased that so many new residents have moved into our neighborhood within the past year. It occurred to us, however, that some residents, whether new or established may not be familiar with the practices, standards and guidelines that have been in place in this neighborhood for many years.

For this reason, the Palmer Woods Association Board has identified and developed a consolidated list of standards compiled from previously issued communications. The attached document, entitled “Palmer Woods Association Homeowner Standards,” outlines these standards.

Going forward, as Palmer Woods Board members are notified of deviations from these standards, a friendly letter will be sent to the applicable homeowner. We are confident that identified issues will be addressed promptly.

You may download an attached Standards List and Complaint Form by clicking here or read below. This will also serve as your reporting tool. If you see a violation of one of the Palmer Woods Association Homeowner Standards, simply check the box next to the standard that has been violated, note the address of the violation and mail to the Palmer Woods Association Board, P.O. Box 21086, Detroit, MI 48221. The process is COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS. From that point, the Palmer Woods Board will handle the matter.

PALMER WOODS ASSOCIATION HOMEOWNER STANDARDS
VEHICLES:
(   ) No recreational vehicles may be stored in front or side yards in full view from the street.
(   ) No disabled or unregistered vehicles may be left on the street or driveway for more than 48 hours.
(   ) No vehicles are allowed to block snow removal.

BURGLAR ALARMS:
(   ) No burglar alarms (residential or vehicle) are allowed to consistently go off.

GARBAGE CANS:
(   ) Garbage cans are to be placed on the street no earlier than 24 hours prior to scheduled pickup.
(   ) Garbage cans are to be removed from street by midnight of scheduled pickup day.
(   ) Garbage cans are not to be stored in front of the home.

BULK TRASH:
(   ) Bulk trash may not be placed on the street sooner than 24 hours prior to scheduled pickup.

PETS:
(   ) Unleashed dogs and cats are not allowed in Palmer Woods.
(   ) Excessive dog barking is not allowed in Palmer Woods.
(   ) Dogs are not allowed to soil another neighbor’s yard in Palmer Woods.

FENCES:
(   ) Fences may not be placed in the front yards of Palmer Woods homes.

GRILLS:
(   ) Barbecue grills may not be stored in driveways where visible from the street.

GRASS AND LEAVES:
(   ) Grass and leaves should be reasonably managed so as not to detract from the aesthetic appeal
      of the neighborhood.

SNOW REMOVAL: (A major safety and liability issue)
(   ) Snow must be removed promptly from sidewalks and walkways to Palmer Woods homes.

ILLEGAL BUSINESSES:
( ) Illegal businesses may NOT be conducted in Palmer Woods homes.
